Dancerwood Estate Harrington Grove

Our Clients

Kim, Meme and their two sons were living in a home they had bought ‘off the plan’ from a builder. They were not involved in the building experience at all and did not have any say into the selections within the home. Kim and Meme did not love the home that they were living in, it did not feel like ‘home’ to them.

Kim and Meme wanted to build a home that was uniquely theirs. A home that perfectly suited the needs and lifestyle of their own family. And, they wanted to be involved in the overall design of the home as well as selecting everything within the home.

They purchased a block of land not very far from where they were living. A generous sized block of land in an estate with strict design rules and in a Bushfire prone area. This required careful planning and consideration during the design phase. The support of a professional builder to make this process as smooth as possible was a priority.

Kim and Meme did their research of local builders and were impressed with the online reviews for Highwater Homes, so they made contact. As well as the rave reviews, Kim and Meme had been following the progress of a Highwater Homes build in the estate in which they were going to build.

After chatting with Toby over the phone, Toby showed Kim and Meme through a home that he had completed a few months previously. This was not a display home but a real home that the clients were now living in. The clients were so happy with their building experience with Highwater Homes and were pleased to be able to ‘show off’ their home and share their positive experience with Kim and Meme.

Being able to walk through a ‘real home’ that Highwater Homes had built and talking to previous clients gave Kim and Meme the confidence that Toby and the team were honest and reliable, with very high standards.

A modern-farmhouse with a coastal vibe was the brief. It was important to Kim and Meme to be involved in the design process of their dream home. They had collected a lot of inspirational pictures of particular design elements and features that they wanted incorporated into their home. Being involved in the design process allowed all of these must- haves to be included.

Kim and Meme loved the selection process. The custom cabinetry for the kitchen and bathrooms and the stone benchtops to complement the cabinetry. The beautiful terrazzo tiles for their wet areas and the modern feature timber panelling for the fireplace and ceilings. The window seat overlooking the bushland to the front of the home was another special inclusion. Having input from the very beginning gave them the confidence that what they had envisioned for their home would come about.

It was also very important to find a builder who could work in with Kim and Meme’s pool builder to allow access to the backyard for the installation of the concrete pool.

The Result

“We have spoken to others who were building at the same time as us. All they have shared are horror stories of extreme delays, surprise extra costs and very poor quality. We have not had any of that, our build has been completely stress-free. Our expectations have been totally surpassed. We could not have hoped for a better experience of building our dream home, it is just how we pictured it and more”
