Our Clients

Rajend, Roshni and their four children were living in an older style home within the Macarthur area. The home no longer suited the needs of their large family, they wanted to build their forever home, still within the Macarthur area.

Their dream was to build a large home that made clever use of the available space and with lots of storage. A home that allowed their teenage children to have their own space to ‘be’ and to mingle with friends. It was important to Rajend and Roshni to have a beautiful kitchen that they can entertain family and friends in, as well as a home that would suit them for many years ahead.

Rajend and Roshni had purchased a large block of land in Gledswood Hills. It was important to them to engage with a builder who could advise and assist with the design of the home as well at the construction.

Rajend and Roshni visited many display homes. They liked elements of the different homes but there was not one home that ticked all of the boxes. They also did not feel comfortable with the approach of many of the large project builders who start with their low base price approach. Rajend and Roshni wanted complete transparency and a builder whom they could trust.

This was the first time that Raj and Roshni had ever built. They joined an online first home builder’s forum to try and gather as much information as possible. They were disappointed to read all of the horror stories about poor communication and terrible quality. This made them very nervous and anxious about choosing the wrong builder to build their forever home.

We worked with Rajend and Roshni to put the vision of their forever home down onto paper. The house design accommodated all of their must haves including Jack and Jill bathrooms for their children’s bedrooms. A large, functional laundry with ample storage and a laundry chute from upstairs. A beautiful kitchen with butler’s pantry. A staircase that wowed you as you entered the home and open plan living spaces as well as private living areas throughout the home.

Being shift workers we co-ordinated visits to site to suit both Rajend and Roshni. With the children at school during the day they were still able to follow the progress of the build by looking at the photos on their own online client portal. This made it easy to show the progress of their home to family and friends too.

During the build at frame stage, Roshni had a thought that they would like to incorporate a lift into the home. They wanted to ensure that their forever home was just that…a home that they could still comfortably live in as they grew older.

We were able to locate the lift in a position that worked well and which was unobtrusive. The lift was designed and constructed in liaison with the lift company, engineers, our carpenters and the certifier. It was as though the lift was part of the house plan from the very beginning.

The Result

Handover day was a family affair… it was very special to have Rajend, Roshni and their four children to experience the excitement of walking through their home for the very first time.

“Our build was such an enjoyable experience. Our family warned us not to build as they had heard the awful horror stories of many others. But, our build was amazing, we are so pleased that we found Highwater Homes. It was actually like we weren’t even building… we had no issues at all. We cannot believe our forever home is now finished, we are so, so happy and love it so very much. Our home is exactly as we pictured it. Thank you to Toby, Elizabeth and the entire Highwater team.”
